Knik Valley is the hidden gem right outside Anchorage. It’s great to go all the way to the glacier but if you don’t have time for our full day tour this is a great option to be able to see the valley and get the basic feel for what off roading is in Alaska.
The experience is always spectacular in this scenic valley and even on the short tours this amazing trail covers lots of terrain. Along the way, you may see Knik Glacier, you’ll get right up close to Knik River at the base of Pioneer Peak, you’ll cross Jim Creek and ride over the dry riverbeds making your way to Friday Creek, eventualy ariving at the halfway lookout. The trail itself is well-defined yet rugged. You'll cross streams and other obstacles as our expert guides show you the way.
Whether you're a thrill-seeker looking for adventure or a family group looking for a very fun short day trip, this is the trail you want. The vast trail system here allows us to cater the experience to you and your current offroading skill level.
As with all of our trails… be prepared! Dress warm, wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy and wear multiple layers (no open-toed shoes, rainboots are preferred). Helmets, goggles and gloves will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
When scheduling, please let us know and allow additional time if you need to make a flight or other scheduled connection.
Shuttle service to and from the downtown Anchorage Visitor Information Center is included. Shuttle service for other locations within the Anchorage bowl is not available for our short day tours.
