REQUIRED SUMMER GEAR (April – September)

We have a large selection of raingear and boots. Arrive ready to get dirty and we’ll take care of the rest. Bug spray, sunscreen and a refillable water bottle is recommended.

REQUIRED WINTER GEAR (October – March)

Winter weather can be VERY cold. Appropriate cold-weather gear is required. We recommend dressing for -20°F when temps are 10 to 30°F to allow for wind-chill and extended exposure. For temps below 10°F, please come with gear rated for -40°F. For recommendations (including places to rent gear), give us a call. We have some options available. There are also local places where gear can be rented.

Thick winter jacket, insulated bibs, warm winter boots, double layered wool socks, winter hat that will fit under your helmet and warm gloves/mittens are required.

Our heated-cab side-by-sides are perfect for enjoying frigid winter temperatures. Knik is a wind-blown valley that can usually accommodate wheelers year-round. If the snow is exceptionally deep, we may switch to snowmobiles.

Tour availability subject to change.

Knik Valley is the hidden gem right outside Anchorage. If you don’t have time for the full day experience, this is a great way to get a taste of Alaskan off-roading. Riding is always spectacular in this scenic valley and even on short tours, this amazing trail covers lots of terrain. You’ll see Knik Glacier in the distance if the weather is clear, get right up close to Knik River at the base of Pioneer Peak, cross Jim Creek, and ride over dry riverbeds making your way to Friday Creek, eventually arriving at the halfway lookout. The trail itself is well-defined yet rugged. You’ll cross streams and other obstacles as our expert guides show you the way.

Whether you’re a thrill-seeker looking for adventure or a family group looking for a half-day outing, Knik will deliver. The vast trail system here allows us to cater the experience to you and your current off-roading skill level.

As with all of our trails… be prepared! Dress warm, wear clothes you don’t mind getting muddy and wear multiple layers (no open-toed shoes). Helmets, goggles and gloves will be provided but feel free to bring your own.

When scheduling, please let us know and allow additional time if you need to make a flight or other scheduled connection. We will be traveling 12 miles away from civilization and the exact return time is dependent on trail conditions.

The Knik River Valley is an Alaskan off-roading playground! In this half-day ATV tour you will ride halfway to the Knik Glacier, catching glimpses of it in the distance (weather permitting). You will wind through forest trails, roll through silt dunes and splash through Jim Creek. Towering mountains provide a gorgeous backdrop to the adventure.ATVs…
